COVID-19 Response Fund

The Obici Healthcare Foundation wants to support the needs of the local community through a COVID-19 Response Fund. We know that communities are facing decreased accessibility to essential supplies and services, lack of access to healthcare, heightened vulnerability and social isolation, and economic distress on small businesses which result in an increased demand in services or a decrease in the capacity of the organization to deliver services. Two funds, Nonprofit Organizations and Public-School Districts and Counties and Cities, have been developed to address community needs.

Nonprofits and Public-School Districts

The key areas of the fund are Health and Safety of Nonprofits and Support for Public-School Districts. Nonprofit agencies and schools are eligible to apply for this funding to support needs that have resulted from the crisis. Examples of priority needs include:

  • purchases that align with COVID-19 such as medical supplies, medical safety equipment, screening and diagnostic tools for COVID‐19 testing;
  • establishing and maintaining sanitation protocols;
  • working with chronically displaced individuals who are homeless and challenging to shelter;
  • other general health, human services and safety needs for organizations that have been impacted by COVID‐19.

The RFP has a more complete list of examples.

Counties and Cities

The key focus is to support Health and Safety of Cities/Counties. Government Agencies are eligible to apply for this funding to support needs that have resulted from the crisis. Funding will be determined by population served and overall need. Examples of priority needs include:

  • a fund for small businesses of 50 employees or smaller;
  • purchases of medical supplies, medical safety equipment, screening, and diagnostic tools for COVID‐19 testing;
  • other general education and safety needs for organizations that have been impacted by COVID‐19, resulting in an increased demand in services or a decrease in the capacity of the organization to deliver services. (iPads, laptops, and computers will not be funded by the Foundation)
